About Us
Candace McDonald has been collecting seashells & sea glass all her life. As a young child, Candace spent three weeks of every summer on the island of Oahu. Fascinated by the culture, she quickly picked up on island activities such as surfing, kayaking, hiking, treasure hunting and making seashell jewelry. These fascinating experiences veered Candace toward creating ocean art. Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area, Candace's love for the ocean increased. After many years of gathering ocean treasures, Beachstring was created. Beachstring has grown from a small hobby into a successful business tucked away on the beautiful Northern California Coastline (in the city of Pacifica, CA). Beachstring's ocean-inspired collections range from home decor to body jewelry and can be found in numerous retail stores located in California. Every chunk of driftwood and every piece of sea glass used in her collections have been hand-picked and hand-drilled by Candace.
